5 Random Things I Found Online Vol. 1

So i decided it would be fun to scout the inter webs for 5 things to put on my blog, all having to do with the environment, birding, etc. all the links will be below any pictures so you can look at the article, video, others pictures, etc. Enjoy!

Birds

This guy who takes pictures and puts them on his website. The link above takes you to the bird section of his gallery, just click on a picture and move your mouse over that picture click on a place where you want to zoom and it’ll zoom. this website is very fun to explore.

This Boy’s Best Friend Is a Magpie, and It’s Adorable

This kid who’s best friend is a magpie. The story goes this kid saved this magpie and they’ve been friends ever since. I found this article on StumbleUpon but later found it on visualnews.com

I also found this article from news channel 8 on StumbleUpon, but the gist of it is that the park service is putting this over decade old picture of these beautiful bison from yellowstone on a stamp. The article came out two days ago [April 28, 2016]

The first thing on this list not found on stumble upon [seriously its a great website check it out!] this chronicles a new or fledgling birder attempting to approach a woodpecker only to be blocked by someone taking a selfie. Honestly though this is a big struggle for us birders, especially timid ones, it’s like the first world problem of birding: Selfies. [god i hate selfies]

And last but definatly not least, this epic video courtesy of the LA times. In order to study the hunting tricks of northern goshawks, they wait for it, strapped the bird version of the go pro to its head. Watch the video, it is absolutely amazing and very interesting as it teaches the interesting hunting style of the goshawk.
