Everglades National Park was by far the best birding in national park I’ve ever had. The amount of species, from endangered to common to threatened were beautiful. Winter there is wonderful and the amount of other birders I met there, is like going on one big Audubon bird walk! Waders like the tricolored heron, spoon bills, even flamingos! On my first day I saw 2 new species! Not just the birds there were amazing, just the wildlife in general, manatees, panthers, crocodiles, and of course alligators. It is a true testament to nature and the national parks themselves. If there was one national park birders can call their own it would be the everglades, I just wish I could have spent more time there.
